Forget blocks!

If the fabrics are sweet enough, who needs more than one patch?

This beautiful 12-square quilt was made for charity by petits details.

After a month and a day of my little bloggy effort, I want to extend a special Turkey Day “Thank You” to everyone who has stopped by, commented, shared photos, and just generally helped to make the world a quiltier place.

You are awesome!

Thank You Bird mini-quilt by baumcat.

One block or two?

Filed under: blocks, flickr, vintage — jennicakes @ 5:50 pm

When I asked about favorite single blocks the other day, Mary mentioned that she liked snowballs best as a one-block quilt.

Judging by this beautiful photo from Fancy Me, she may have a point!

The irony is that the snowball + nine patch has long been my favorite 2-block variation. I love this scrappy version from Q is for Quilter:

Snowballs? Or snowballs and nines?

Filed under: doll quilt, flickr, paper piecing — jennicakes @ 10:19 am

It’s never too early to plan ahead! If you don’t already know, the next round of Doll Quilt Swapping begins in January!

Here’s what I made for Pink Trees, my round six swap partner: paper-pieced crazy patches:

I haven’t decide whether or not to sign up. I’d be tempted to make the one above over and over again, to be perfectly honest.
