I’m learning a lot about machine quilting by reading Quilts on Bastings. Not so much about how to machine quilt as why it makes sense to send tops out, haha!

The fern pattern adds so much to the overall pattern of this gorgeous quilt. I love how geometric it is, and how organic at the same time. Check out this detail shot:
I’ve never sent a top to be quilted, but I’ve always considered it. I’m considering it a lot more now!
